Artist's Description
"When Heaven came down - Study" is a painting in a series inspired by the Amazon fires in the recent times. It is my honor to paint abstracts of real places in this beautiful world of ours. This is a study and hence the original is not for sale. I would like to add a layer of oils to give the painting more definition yet keep the abstraction very much alive. The fires in Amazon and the blatant disregard of scientific evidence of global warming is real. It is alarming and we as a people have to do our part to bring attention to this calamity. This is my humble effort towards bringing awareness to the issue. All sales from this image will be donated to students studying the environment. The inspiration for this painting are the Nemphilia Blooms in Hitachi, Japan.
About Hyacinth Paul
Dr. Hyacinth Paul is a retired scientist and Professor who recently started her career as an artist. Her works are both abstract and realistic, mostly done in oil, acrylics and mixed media. Her paintings are very colorful because she believes color sparks synesthesia and involuntarily evokes feelings of joy. Her paintings using the method of the old masters technique take several weeks to complete. Her abstracts are opinions and thoughts she is trying to communicate through her colorful canvas. She has just completed over 58 works in the 58th year of her life. Within the last year, Dr. Paul has exhibited in more than 10 solo/group exhibitions.
